Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Characteristic of network analysis is a relational perspective in opposition to wildly employed methodological individualism. In the description and interpretation of social phenomena, network analysis starts at the “in-between”, the relations between actors. Therefore not the attributes of individuals such as age, gender, social class form the focal point of analysis, but instead the kind/form and quality of their social embedding. This perspective is not new as such, but nevertheless still rarely fully employed in research. In addition to reading, in this seminar we will discuss the projects of participants from a relational perspective.
