Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar will provide the opportunity to explore aspects of the research frontier in political competition. The seminar is open to all dissertation projects that relate to this concept, e.g. in terms of electoral competition, coalition politics or institutional design. It is equally interested in the behaviour of collective actors and individuals and the rules that structure competition. The seminar will provide an opportunity to present and discuss
dissertation proposals (before submission to the Faculty)
self-contained draft chapters for monographical dissertations
papers to be submitted to journals
The seminar’s goal is to provide critical feedback and to ask challenging questions. It aims at confronting the participants with work on the research frontier from both members of the University of Vienna and guest speakers.
All seminar papers will need to be sent out to all participants no later than a full week before the scheduled presentation. Papers can be in both English and German. The discussion will be conducted in the English language.
Potential seminar participants send an e-mail to Professor Dr. Wolfgang C. Müller (wolfgang.mueller@univie.ac.at) including (1) an abstract of the planned presentation, (2) information on the nature of the paper (proposal, chapter, paper). Deadline: 20.9.2015
