Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course familiarizes students with the major theoretical and empirical issues in political behaviour research. First, the course offers a theoretical overview of the major discussions in political behaviour research (e.g. political support, political participation, voting behaviour, democratic representation, etc.) taking into account the research foci of the participants. Second, it examines their various methodological approaches.
Thus, doctoral students working in the area of political behaviour will get familiarised with theoretical considerations relevant for their dissertation and learn how to operationalise the theoretical framework for their empirical research.
The course addresses doctoral students of all disciplines in the social sciences.
