Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The doctoral seminar will help to prepare the 9th annual Graduate Conference in European History (Graceh) in April 23-25, 2015, which will be hosted by the University of Vienna in cooperation with the EUI in Florence and the CEU in Budapest. Doctoral students who would like to be engaged with Graceh are expecially encouraged to take part in the seminar.
Aside from these purposes related to Graceh, the seminar will serve as thesis writing seminar in which advanced doctoral students can present single chapters of their thesis and beginners their concepts.

Examination topics

The methodological basis for the discussion will be readings in comparative history, transferts culturels/Transfergeschichte, entangled history and other "relational approaches" in history and cultural studies.
