Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The event is aimed at doctoral students in the focus area "Social and Economic Spaces" as well as students in other focus areas with thematic and methodological connections. Both advanced doctoral students and doctoral students who are at the beginning of their dissertation project are addressed.
The aim is reflection on the methodology of the dissertation and the handling of sources as well as support in writing or improving relevant chapters. The focus is on the joint processing of sample sources selected by the doctoral candidates. Depending on progress and needs, these sources are linked to methodological key texts, existing or preliminary chapters of the dissertation or the dissertation synopsis. The doctoral students are free to design the unit on their dissertation project. Depending on the needs of the participants, the design of the colloquium can still be supplemented or adapted together.

Assessment and permitted materials

Participation and active collaboration, independent design of a sequence with one or more source examples supplemented by a methodological key text, a chapter of the dissertation with a focus on methodology or the exposé on the dissertation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirement for receiving ECTS:
- Participation in all block units (one absence can be compensated by a substitute performance).
- Performance of the self-designed sequence

It is also possible to attend the colloquium without earning ECTS. In this case, please contact the course instructors directly, you will then receive access to the Moodle course.
