Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Syllabus: The methods customary in the field of cultural studies and humanities are learned and applied as required. The topics of the participants and their needs are explicitly addressed. The SE is also open to doctoral students in German studies and legal history, since the the seminar leader is also a legal historian and German studies professor. By the end of the SE, significant progress should have been made for all PhD students; A part of the work - at least 2 chapters, structure, work introduction and a concept of the summary must be created and submitted to the supervisor for grading the performance. Every doctoral student receives feedback after each submission of a subtask. At least five such subtasks are planned.

Assessment and permitted materials

For performance assessment, see the information in the syllabus. The schedule for submitting the subtasks will be coordinated with the participants. The possibility of revising the submitted partial performances and their control by the seminar leader is also planned.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirement: of the program to be delivered - 2 chapters with footnotes, a good, preliminary structure of the work, an introduction to the doctoral thesis and a small concept in which the new research results are outlined (summary) - two essential points must be fulfilled in the form of a presentation and in revised written version. This absolutely required a good concept and a finished chapter.

Examination topics

Application of the learned interdisciplinary methodology based on the partial work submitted by the doctoral students.

The literature is given individually and according to topic in the teaching units.
