Aims, contents and method of the course

Content & Aim: This is an interactive seminar-type course for students embarking on, or already working on their Dissertation. The seminar will give participants the opportunity to discuss not only the progress of their own work but also issues arising from it of a more general theoretical or practical interest.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment will be based on regular contribution to class discussion and participants' presentations.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Examination topics

Participants will collaborate in the close and critical examination of ideas about language and language study. Giving and receiving feedback and support for thesis work is an important aspect of this course.

Reading list

Suggestions for relevant readings will be made throughout the course; some will relate to improving the research process and others will arise out of participants' research areas and specific questions.
