Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Digital media are increasingly interwoven with all our cultural practices. Differentiations like the one between culture and technology, cognition and automation or mind and media loose their grasp. It goes without saying that this also has consequences for the methods of the humanities and for cultural studies in particular. If we really want to understand the nature of these entanglements it will be necessary to bring the methods of the humanities and of science into contact. This way it probably becomes more intelligible what differentiates cultural processes from those conducted by algorithms - and what perhaps will be threatened by this development.
