Aims, contents and method of the course
In this course, we will guide you through developing your concept paper of your doctoral thesis as well as through preparing the presentation of your concept paper in the public presentation at the Faculty (FöP). The course is open to those doctoral students who are in the first stage of their doctoral thesis and wish to prepare for the FöP. Further details regarding course organization will be provided via Moodle.Methods: Presentations, peer-reviews, plenary discussions
Assessment and permitted materials
Beurteilungsmaßstab
• Presentation of concept: 15 credits
• Written feedbacks: 30 credits
• Written concept (due February 5, 2022): 40 credits (the announced submission date is binding)
• Participation in discussion and other tasks: 15 credits. Other participation will be counted positively into the final assessment.60 credits and the submission of the concept are needed to pass the course.1 (sehr gut) 100-90 credits
2 (gut) 89-81 credits
3 (befriedigend) 80-71 credits
4 (genügend) 70-60 credits
5 (nicht genügend) 59-0 credits

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
• Mandatory attendance. Students may miss class once in a term (without valid excuse).
• It is mandatory to upload the written assignments (concepts and peer-reviews).
