Aims, contents and method of the course

Gina Semprebon (Bay Path, Longmeadow, MA) is specialist in micor wear analyses. The ananlyses is a modern method that deals with tiny abrevasion traces on teeth (fossil and extant) to get new information on food preferences and palaeoecology, specially on fossil mammals. In her lectures she will introduce students into the principle method (binocular, SEM), show them different measurement techniques and help them in the practical application of the micro wear analyses (making cast of high quality and analyse them). If somebody is interested in a special animal group, please bring your own material. Some topics among others are: Paleoecology pf Malagasy subfossil lemur and on fossil mammals of North America.
