Aims, contents and method of the course
The course will concentrate on geochemical profiles of solid-state environmental samples using Portable X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry. The structure of the course is an introduction lecture and hands-on measurements and analyses. There will be a review of the chemistry and physics concepts that are needed to understand the theory of the XRF, as well as a literature review of the applications. During the second part, students will be allowed to measure and analyze their own samples for other course work and research projects and work on analyzing the data. A one day field practice is also included.
