Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The Working Groups belonging to Human Geography jointly organize this combined PhD-Master thesis course. The purpose of the course is to establish and support a culture of peer review and collaboration, to source perspectives from throughout Human Geography, and to "institutionalize" the progression of dissertation and master thesis research. Rather than a formal, frontal presentation, the course is more like a workshop and interactive round-table discussion.

PhD students:
- ca. 60 minutes per PhD student (25-30 min presentation, 10-15 min comments and suggestions from the discussant, 20 min questions and comments from the audience)
- Invited discussants are asked to prepare presentations, summarizing the strengths of the PhD project, identifying potentials for improvement and offering other advice.

Master students:
-ca. 30 minutes per Master student (20 min presentation, 10 min questions and comments from the audience)

Post docs are explicitly invited and welcomed.
