Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Phases of test construction, theory-based item generation.

Models for dichotomous and polytomous data: Rasch Model, Partial Credit Model, Rating Scale Model etc.

Parametric goodness of fit tests and quasi exact tests for relatively small samples (only for dichotomous data).

Possible procedure for model evaluation; with emphasis on theory based item selection.

Practical applications (real data) with the open source software R, package eRm

Introduction in Item Response Models for measuring change

Assessment and permitted materials

Information about the mode of examination will be given in the first session

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Ability to apply the Rasch model for psychometric investigations of instruments as well as for the investigation of other hypothesis; basic knowledge as motivation for other IRT-models, etc.
