Aims, contents and method of the course

Presentations of dissertation work during two mini conferences (05.11.2010, 21.01.2011, both 12-16 h)

Discussion of relevant papers of interest, and burning questions during additional meetings (e.g., on 19.11.2010, Leder; on 26.11.2010, Ansorge; on 07.01.2011, Leder/Ansorge; each from 12-14 h).

As to the content of your presentation/proposal: present your dissertation

proposal; present a draft of a research proposal for third parties; give an

empirical talk on some of your findings; give a theoretical talk; present

a recent paper of yours.

The plan is to have a half-hour presentation and a half-hour discussion

for each of 4 participants per each of the two small conferences, and to

discuss burning quesitions, consented papers etc. in the three two-hour

sessions. Further meetings with Helmut Leder or Ulrich Ansorge are

negotiable. Noteworthy, if more than 8 participants register, some spare

time of the 2-hour sessions will be also devoted to your presentations.

Assessment of the presentation and of active participation.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Learning to present; practice scientific writing; discussion of your ideas.

Examination topics

Presentation and discussion of one's own research and the corresponding research area; writing of articles.
