Aims, contents and method of the course
The main goal of our course is to move from elementary to independent language use. What is meant by an elementary level of language proficiency (which you should have after two semesters of Russian) and what is independent language proficiency can be seen from the description below:Elementary language use
Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. personal and family information, shopping, work, local area). Can communicate in simple, routine situations involving a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms own background and education, immediate environment and things related to immediate needs.Independent use of language
Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling. Can deal with most situations encountered when travelling in the language area. Can produce simple and coherent text on familiar topics and areas of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and give brief reasons or explanations for plans and opinions.Our main grammar topics will be:

Systematic knowledge of the verbs of locomotion: simple and
prefigured verbs of movement
Expression of modal relations: rendering German modal verbs

The language skills of the examination candidates should correspond approximately to level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In addition, the module examination covers the grammatical and lexical topics taught in the course Language Acquisition Russian Extension 2.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
A positive evaluation requires, at a minimum:
1. Regular attendance (absence from more than half of the classes will result in a negative grade regardless of the reason for the absence);
2. Regular and quality completion of homework assignments;
3. Positive completion of most of the current written tests and oral quizzes.
4. Positive performance on the final written paper and oral examination.

By the exam, you should have theoretical and practical knowledge of all grammatical topics learnt (including those given for independent study), as well as an oral command of Russian at level B1.
