Aims, contents and method of the course

Development of the language competences using its expressive tools; work with the press articles on social topics; training through translations of sophisticated texts at the appropriate level. Eventual participation in the research radio project on the history of Ukrainians in the Austrian Empire at the beginnig of the 20. century.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written and oral checks, homeworks, continuous active participation in the learning process, final presentation on selected topic

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Further development of the language competences incl. stilistic and scientific levels

Examination topics

Preparation of daily news in Ukrainian incl. own analysis; reflecting press materials during the discussions with comments; training new vocabulary while creating dialogs in different situations; presenting content of books/ films orally or in the written form; providing own examples to the newly leaned grammar, writing own texts on the discussed topics etc.
