Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The KO discusses sociolinguistic issues and approaches and their applicability to Slavic contexts. We will elaborate on selected concepts, theories, and methodologies. During the semester, students will have to prepare assigned texts and topics, which will then be presented and discussed in class or in small groups. Also, students will jointly develop smaller research projects on selected topics of the course.

Assessment and permitted materials

As the Colloquium implies continuous assessment of course work, students must attend and prepare assigned tasks. Students are expected reading the assigned literature, actively participating and taking part in discussions. The attendants will have to prepare assigned topics, tasks and/or reading material, and involve in joint smaller research projects.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basic requirement for positive grading: attendance (students may miss three classes maximum). Assessment criteria: active preparation, participation and involvement during the classes; presentation of assigned topics, tasks and texts, and research project.

Examination topics

There won’t be a written or oral exam.
