Aims, contents and method of the course

Die Lehrveranstaltung bietet Orientierung für das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten und Schreiben im Rahmen des Studiums der Slawistik an der Universität Wien. Sie vermittelt grundlegende Arbeitstechniken (wie Recherchieren, Bibliografieren, Exzerpieren) und Schreibstrategien (wie Definieren, Referieren, Zitieren) zur Sicherung der guten wissenschaftlichen Praxis.
Die Arbeitsmethoden des wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens und Schreibens werden anhand konkreter Textbeispiele eingeübt und sowohl im Peer-Feedback als auch im Plenum diskutiert. Die praktische Einübung soll den Studierenden dabei helfen, aktiv in den Forschungsprozess einzutreten, ein wissenschaftliches Sprachgefühl zu entwickeln, um selbstständig wissenschaftliche Arbeiten schreiben, präsentieren und zur Diskussion stellen zu können.

Prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung; Leistungskontrolle erfolgt durch vier Teilaufgaben (Mitarbeit/Präsentation, Recherche/Bibliografie, Exzerpt, Definition inkl. Argumentation) in Form eines Portfolios.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Dies ist eine prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung, es besteht Anwesenheitspflicht zu mind. 80% mit aktiver Mitarbeit. Die Leistungskontrolle erfolgt durch vier Teilaufgaben (Mitarbeit/Präsentation, Recherche/Bibliografie, Exzerpt, Definition inkl. Argumentation) als Portfolio. Bei deren Bearbeitung geht es um die präzise Auseinandersetzung mit den Arbeitsaufträgen unter Nutzung der in der LV vermittelten Inhalte, Skripten und Materialien, aber auch von recherchierter Fachliteratur. Jede Teilleistung wird eigenständig bewertet. In der Beurteilung zählen die Teilaufgaben 1–3 je 20%, die Teilaufgabe 4 zählt 40%. Bewertet wird inhaltlich knappe, sachlich dichte, formal korrekte, sprachlich präzise, der Aufgabenstellung entsprechende Darstellung. Eine zeitgerechte Abgabe ist Bestandteil der Bewertung. Das Bewertungsschema wird auf Moodle bereitgestellt.

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course shall provide the basics for scientific work in the fields of Slavonic Studies. This includes the correct application of formal guidelines, the research of literature, the definition of relevant research questions, such as the content-related and argumentative conception of scientific texts. In team activities and discussions, we will train specific process steps to provide a basis for the four written tasks: a bibliography, an excerpt, a definition, and a critical-argumentative text. These written tasks are, together with regular attendance and active participation, the evaluation basis.

Assessment and permitted materials

The course is continuously assessed taking into account the tasks listed below.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- regular attendance (not more than 3 absences) and participation in the discussions
- submitting homework on time
(bibliography, excerpt, definition, critical-argumentative text)
