Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of this KO is to get the students acquainted with the history and methods of phonetics and phonology on the material of the East Slavic languages. The focus of the KO will be on the diversity of modern phonetic and phonological schools. In addition, students will be given more opportunities to clarify questions about the phonetic systems of the East Slavic languages.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students are expected to make an active contribution (homework, discussion, collaboration), which is taken into account in their grades. The most important contribution to performance assessment is a semester paper on a topic chosen by the students.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

As a minimum requirement for a positive assessment, students must complete a written seminar paper on the topics covered, in addition to their own active contribution (homework, discussion, collaboration). To successfully complete this seminar paper, at least more than half of the possible number of points must be achieved.

Examination topics

The examination material is based on the phonetic and phonological topics covered and the prescribed literature.
