Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar will focus on theory of comparative children's literature and areas (theory, contact and transfer, poetics, intertextuality, intermediality, image, genre, historiography, history and interlinking of different areas). Seminar will focus on children's classic (e. g. Alice, Pinocchio, Heidi, Happy Prince, Winnie the Pooh, The Wizard of Oz, The Little Prince, Pippi Longstocking, Moomins, The Witches etc. (in Slovenian translation) and comparing with Slovenian authors and literary texts.

Assessment and permitted materials

Exam (Prüfungsimmanent mit Abschlussarbeit).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students apply comparative method to literary texts and their relationships with music, visual arts and film. Students will learn and apply areas of comparative children's literature. Taking into account the new media that enable the solution of comparative literary and cultural history.

Examination topics

Different methods (lecture, dialogue, meetings, presentations, multimedia).
