Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This practice-oriented conversation course is designed as a supplementary course in the Master's curriculum to provide a contrastive description of the complex language structures of modern Czech and Slovak and to consolidate them through language exercises. Students are also given more opportunity to ask questions. Conversational courses are characterised by the active participation of the students, who are continuously assessed.
Assessment and permitted materials
Students are expected to make their own active contribution (homework, discussion, compulsory participation), which will be taken into account in the grading. The most important contribution to performance assessment is a written examination on the topics covered during the semester.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
As a minimum requirement for a positive assessment, in addition to active participation (homework, discussion, compulsory attendance), students must take a written test on the topics covered. In order to pass this exam, at least half of the possible number of points must be obtained. The other half can be divided into four quarters, each of which is used to calculate the grade of the exam according to the number of points obtained. 50% of the grade for the written examination will count towards the final grade, the other 50% will be based on the student's active contribution. More than half of the total number of grade relevant criteria must be fulfilled to pass the course. The other half can be divided into four quarters, from which the final grade is calculated.
Examination topics
Based on the prescribed literature, chapters from all levels of Czech and Slovak morphology form the examination material from a contrastive perspective.
