Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Within this KO we will deal with writing systems that have been or are used in a South Slavic context. We will discuss the meaning of "writing" and concentrate on the history of South Slavic writing systems and their cultural symbolic importance.
Assessment and permitted materials
As the Colloquium implies continuous assessment of course work, students must attend. Students are expected reading the assigned literature, actively participating and taking part in discussions. Every attendant needs to give one presentation on a defined topic, which needs to be reflected in an essay until the end of the semester (app. 5 pages, deadline 31.1.2018).
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Attendance, active preparation, participation and involvement during the semester; presentation; essay.
Examination topics
There won’t be a written or oral exam.
Reading list
Reading list and literature will be provided at the beginning of the semester and will be constantly updated on Moodle.
