Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction, position of OCS in Indo-European, cultural-historical background (Cyrilo-Methodian "mission" and development until the fall of the 1st Bulgarian Empire), writing systems, prehistoric phonological development, phonology and morphology.

Assessment and permitted materials

Partaking in discussions, homeworks, and written tests

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Overview over the genesis and development of OCS including the prehistoric phonological development and basic knowledge of OCS graphemics, phonology and morphology.

Examination topics

Depending on the content, the various chapters will be given either as a lecture, or in collaboration with the students in reading and discussion-sessions.
