    Information

    Aims, contents and method of the course

    Objectives: The course opens up diverse perspectives on the teaching profession and enables students to develop their own initial professional understanding of basic competencies and challenges in the teaching profession, and to reflect on their own perspectives in a scientifically sound manner in the context of personal intentions, professional challenges, and social responsibility.
    Contents: This course introduces the essential aspects of the general principles of educational science (ABGs). This includes the introduction to central concepts of educational science such as education and socialization, the institutional conditions of teaching and learning and the fundamental questions of professionalism in the context of schooling.
    Methods: lecture (digital), case studies, flipped classroom units

    - The final exam is in the form of an in-person (not-digital) written multiple-choice test on the entire course content.
    - Students who require special support for participation in the lecture and/or for the exam are requested to contact the course instructor.

    Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

    20 single- and multiple-choice questions with total 100 points
    Point system:
    Very good: 89 - 100 points
    Good: 76 - 88 points
    Satisfactory: 63 - 75 points
    Sufficient: 50 - 62 points
    Fail: >50 points
