Aims, contents and method of the course

Objectives: The course "Orientierungspraktikum" aims at opening up learning opportunities in the school classroom. It gives an introduction into questions of school research and practice.
The lecture and the parallel seminars have three main objectives:
1. An introduction into the foundations of didactics and teaching and learning research
2. Classroom observation and deliberate practice sequences
3. A close cooperation with the mentors at school as a staff development measure and as a win-win collaborative process between school and university.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment: Multiple Choice Test, MC and SC
No props allowed

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

40 points are needed to pass the MC/SC exam
4: 20 - 25 correct answers;
3: 26 - 31 correct answers;
2: 32 - 36 correct answers;
1: 37 - 40 correct answers

Examination topics

To pass the exam students have acquire knowledge on what the lecture is about including the course literature to be read. See list below.
In the parallel seminars the topics of the lecture and the content of the reading tasks are worked on and discussed.
