Miminum requirements and assessment standard
Students have acquired initial skills in observing lessons and are able to independently carry out and document smaller observation sequences as part of their internship. They can distinguish between describing and interpreting observed teaching sequences.
They have gained initial experience in planning lessons and can link and justify their planning concepts as well as short sequences they have taught themselves with findings from teaching and learning research. They have begun to develop a concept of their professional role as a teacher.

The orientation internship is intended to enable accompanied practical experience and to provide a structured introduction to school practice based on research in the professional field.
In this sense, the orientation internship and the accompanying courses pursue the following goals:
1. The students learn the basics of didactics and classroom research and are able to derive principles of successful teaching
2. Methods of class observation and class reflection will be worked with and discussed. The students can correctly use and justify these methods in small given exercises.
3. recent findings of learning research and the resulting consequences for the design of teaching, feedback processes and performance assessment will be presented. Students have dealt with these in depth and can explain and make use of them in smaller teaching sequences on a case-by-case basis.
4. mentors accompany the internships in cooperation with the course leaders of the proseminars.
Lecture and accompanying proseminar refer to a common text corpus. The obligatory basic literature as well as the contents of the lecture will be used as a basis for the examination of the lecture.Contents:
1. Learning to observe lessons - observing learning processes
2. Learning research Revisited: What do we know about successful learning processes
3. Classroom management and the professional teacher role
4. Planning and organization of lessons: from script to classroom interaction
5. Feedback and performance assessment

Input, work in groups, practice of class observation with the help of video recordings of lessons.The detailed VO program will be presented at the beginning of the semester and will be accessible via the Moodle learning platform.
