Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Rethinking schools is not a new topic, but it is more topical than ever. The course will begin with a brief historical outline of efforts to make schools "people-friendly" or "in the interests of the child". Various theses will be used to compare today's demands for school renewal with historical phenomena. The discussions will lead to questions that will be used to ask teachers and other people (parents and guardians, school caretakers, secretaries, etc.) at the school location about their wishes.

The aim of the course is to take a closer look at questions on the topic of "Rethinking school" as part of a cooperation with a school in Vienna. To this end, the topic is first dealt with theoretically.
The results will be evaluated according to scientific criteria.
A presentation of the results at the school site is planned (date to be announced) and an overall report will be made available to the school.

After an overview of qualitative and quantitative research approaches, methodological approaches to generating data sets will be discussed. Explicit reference will be made to group discussions. This method is explained in more detail and subsequently tested in the field. The data is then evaluated using a content analysis approach.

Durchführung von Gruppendiskussionen bzw. Interviews + online Befragung mit anschließender Analyse und Interpretation der Daten.

Durchführung, Transkription + Analyse und Interpretation der im Feld erhobenen Daten: 50 Punkte (vorgegebener/vereinbarter Abgabetermin ist einzuhalten)
Präsentation: 30 Punkte
Beteiligung in den Diskussionsphasen (Konstruktive, fachlich richtige Beiträge und Engagement bei der Besprechung der Präsentationen): 20 Punkte

Für eine positive Beurteilung der Lehrveranstaltung sind 60 Punkte erforderlich.

Prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung. Alle in der Lehrveranstaltung durchgenommenen Inhalte, insbesondere auch die fachlichen und fachdidaktischen Inhalte und Überlegungen. Unterstützende Literatur befindet sich auf Moodle.
