Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Participants will be assessed on the basis of their contribution to a small empirical case-study, their written research paper, oral presentation, and in-class participation.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The course strives to
° provide basic knowledge about the forms of bilingual education;
° provide basic knowledge about team teaching;
° rise students awareness about the importance of language in education, and in society at large;
° raise students awareness about the link between language and identity, language and culture, culture and identity;
° introduce students to empirical research in schools;
° develop students ability to individually define and work with research questions;
° develop students ability to construct an adequate research tools;
° introduce qualitative and quantitative research methods (data collection, processing, and analysis/interpretation);
° develop students ability to document and present research results transparently.

Examination topics
Course methods among others include developing and conducting a small research project, classroom and online discussions, in-class tasks, readings, and presentations.
