Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

students acquire knowledge on and transferable skills about
- determinants and models of health
- dimensions, goals and principles (empowerment, equality, participation, ...) of health promotion
- health status of children and adolescents
- health promotion in the school setting and within school development
- prevention strategies and interventions regarding addictive disorders
- didactical approaches on health education
- basics of project management for school development
- examples (good practice) of health promotion activities within the school setting

This class also includes e-learning elements (Moodle).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

active participation in class and in the online forum
written lesson plan for a competency-based unit about health education or addiction prevention, its presentation and peer-teaching
written report on a project on health promotion in a school setting and project presentation
