Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
No school is an island, i.e. schools function in a framework, which is determined by social and political demands. A professional attitude to teaching includes reflexion of schools and the role of teachers as well as of school development. Students will be encouraged to see school as a learning institution and to understand their part in our school system.
Assessment and permitted materials
Assessment will rely on participation, a paper produced by a team and its presentation, as well as a number of texts to be read as asignment.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
We will examine current aspects of school development and the motivation behind them. We will study theortetical as well as practical aspects of the big changes taking place at the moment.
Examination topics
Students will participate actively, using a variety of methods (such as research, presentation, team work).
Reading list
A short bibliography will be handed out in our first session.
