Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims
Students passing this course will improve in their scientific presentation and reading skills: They will be able to independently research a scientific topic and give a short talk supported by media (presentation slides, blackboard) using adequate scientific vocabulary. This includes the ability to generate meaningful and reasonable visualizations (plots and sketches) and giving adequate and constructive feedback.

Contents
Topics include: In this seminar, we will study the emerging field of laser beams carrying orbital angular momentum and their interaction with matter. Some of the leading scientists in this field of research will be invited to present their research.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation of a talk and active participation in >80% of all meetings

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presentation and thesis / paper were applicable.
