Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar focuses on the state of the art of modern nanostructured materials, their properties and their applicability.
We discuss on a weekly basis different types of articles:
- papers that have been published long time ago and set the basis for the current knowledge
- new and high impact publications

One of our goals is to learn how to asses the importance of given publications to the state of the art related to specific materials. A strong focus on sp2 carbon related materials should be expected.

Assessment and permitted materials

Attendance, participation and presentation of at least one research article per semester.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

It is advisable to have some knowledge solid state physics.

Examination topics

Evaluation during the semester. The presentation of assigned papers will be evaluated as well as the participation on the discussion of papers presented by the colleagues of the seminar.
