Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Practical course on genomics, focused on ancient DNA as well as human and mammalian sequencing data. We will use public data from modern and ancient genomes, filter and analyse this data using common tools, and perform common analysis tasks.
This would involve the processing and QC of sequencing and genotype data, as well as an introduction to the analysis of population relationships (using f-statistics and PCA). All participants will work in an interactive session, either on their own laptop or a PC in the lecture room. Basic knowledge on using the command line interface and bash would be required.

Assessment and permitted materials

Assessment involves solving an analysis task during the last session.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Attending the practical course is required. The analysis task will be evaluated.

Examination topics

The analysis task will be closely related to the content of the course.
