Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of this course is to introduce incoming students to the research topics and technologies established on campus.The faculty will present and facilitate the discussion of current challenges in the Life Sciences, enabling students to become critical and thorough researchers. Furthermore, PhD students will be trained in valuable soft skills for a successful PhD: - Effective communication skills - Managing your PhD: frame setting, goals and planning - Analyzing primary literature (structured journal clubs) - Reviewing and following up data - Current issues in Life Sciences - Exploring technologies for the advancement of research - Acknowledging and learning from mistakes - Problem solving in Life Sciences

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous evaluation of students active participation and scientific discussion.
