Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The Quaternary represents an unusual sub-era in Earth history. It consisted of long intervals of cold and drought, alternating with short periods of warmth. The consequences of the climatic change for the palaeogeography and the challenges that this represented for the organisms that colonized the terrestrial environment are underscored. The movement of the evegetation and consequent faunal change will be discussed.
