Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The Summer School is aimed at all early career researchers working in the field of teaching and learning.
The aim is to give participants a broad overview of research methods and to provide impetus for the further development of their own research projects.
This is achieved through:
- Contributions from international experts from various research fields
- Methodological workshops
- Presentation of own research projects
- Feedback from and discussions with experts
- Feedback from and discussions with peers

These experts will give lectures and workshops and will advise the participants during the Summer School:
- Dr. Tom Bielik (Radboud University, Nijmegen): Teaching and Learning about Complex Phenomena
- Dr. Marco Galle (University College Luzern, Switzerland): Learning in social networks: mixed-method social network research with structuring qualitative content analysis
- Dr. Jennifer Meyer (Leibniz-Institut für die Pädagogik der Naturwissenschaften und Mathematik, Kiel, Germany): Development and research of automated feedback using artificial intelligence
- Dr. Lukas Boser (Universität Basel, Schweiz): Under Review: Dealing with peer review

The Summer School aims to provide participants with a broad overview of methodological approaches to research in the field of teaching and learning and to enable them to build networks outside their own scientific community.

Assessment and permitted materials

Expected is ...
- active participation during the entire period
- active and constructive participation in peer feedback
- a contribution in the form of a poster or scientific presentation
o For empirical work that is already at an advanced stage, a presentation in the form of a scientific presentation is suitable.
o For all other contributions (research projects in the planning or idea stage), we recommend a poster presentation.
o For both presentations and posters, we expressly recommend that all participants present their open questions.
