Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Computer modelling of flows is one of the outstanding problems of Applied Mathematics resp. Scientific Computing. Whole industries hinge upon this art (construction of engines, airplaines, chemical recators,...), and the task is also vital for many areas of science (biological flows, for example blood flow, flows in geophysics and meteorology, astrophysical and cosmological questions such as the formation of galaxies and groups of galaxies.) Since this interdisciplinary area is actively pursued here, we want to give an introduction which may also lead to a diploma resp. PhD thesis if desired.
