Aims, contents and method of the course

ECTS Points: 2.2
A comprehensive introduction to environmental mineralogy. The lecture treats the
stabilisation, immobilisation and storage of radioactive and toxic (heavy metal)
waste (storage minerals, SYNROC, PIMS, glasses, ...), mining & environment
(AMD, barrier concepts, waste management, ...), 'power plant mineralogy', and other
important issues.
