Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal of this project-seminar is solution and documentation of a problem of Applied
Mathematics within a large range the fields of applications (physics, (mechanical) engineering, chemistry, biology,...)
Typically a model for such an applied problem and its practical numerical solution is dealt
with.
Each participating student choses a project (own propositions possible). Teamwork in small
groups of 2 or more students is welcome.
A written documentation of the project is obligatory, a talk of about 30 minutes is welcome.
Requirements: Numerical Mathematics and Applied Analysis, eventually good knowledge of ODEs and/or PDEs.
