The lecture informs about quality control of herbal drugs (leaves, flowers, roots, barks etc.) by means of macroscopic and microscopic methods. Special emphasis is laid on the anatomical characteristics of those herbal drugs which are treated in pharmacognosy, practical course 1. The methods for examining the identity and purity of crude drugs and powdered crude drugs and the analysis of their mixtures are presented.
