Aims, contents and method of the course

Investigation, analysis, identification and quality control of herbal drugs and herbal medicinal products thereof, phytopharmaceuticals and other medicinal products of biogenous origin using chemical and biological methods, quantification of active constituents or lead compounds. Essential examples from different pharmacopeias concerning extraction, purification and quality assessment like chromatographic or spectrophotometric methods, gravimetry or volumetric analysis. Isolation of single compounds of biological origin and identification of the structures using physical or spectroscopic methods.
