The objective of the lecture is to give a general overview about available digital image data, enhancement steps and interpretation techniques used in Remote Sensing Geology.The main characteristics of panchromatic, mutispectral and hyperspectral image data and of Synthetic Aperture Radar Data (SAR) are outlined and respective image enhancements steps (radiometric, spectral, spatial) are introduced.Based on practical examples the applicability of enhanced images products for lithologic mapping, structural geology, hydrogeology and exploration geology is shown.The lecture is good for 2.2 ECTS points. The certificate results from final oral examination. A script is available for students.
