The purpose of the course is for students to learn how to apply mathematical methods to the biological sciences. The course covers basic and more advanced mathematical topics like simple numerical and statistical techniques, fundamental equations and functions, matrix operations, curve-fitting, mathematical modelling, probability, parameter estimation and hypothesis testing.
