Aims, contents and method of the course

ECTS: 2 credit points
Clouds are not spheres, mountains are not cones, lightning does not travel in a straight line, and earth-quakes recur not regularly. To describe the complexity of nature`s "shapes" a new geometry, the geometry of fractal shapes was developed. We touch also on connections with stochastics and chaos-theory.
