The lecture is intended for students of the second part of their studies and is recommended as preparation for a diploma work in photonics and neutron optics, respectively. Contents: tensor algebra and analysis, tensors for the description of macroscopic properties of matter (tensors of electric and magnetic susceptibility, stress and strain tensor, piezoelectric tensor, elastic tensor, thermodynamic relations among the tensors, tensors of thermal and electric conductivity, optical activity)
