Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction into immunology - the genes, proteins, cells, tissues, physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms. Native / unspecific and adaptive / specific immune system. Cells and tissues of the immune system. Antigens and antibodies. B-lymphocytes and the generation of the diversity of antigen-binding specificity. T-lymphocytes, the T-cell receptor, MHC proteins, and presentation of antigen. Cytokines and cell adhesion molecules. Mechanisms of regulation and effector functions. Immune deficiency and hypersensitivity.
