The lecture 'Struktur und Funktion der Pflanze' (809018 VO) consists of two parts.
The first part (approximately 15 hours) introduces the students to the basic functions of cells and the special features of plant cells.
The second part entitled 'Structure and function of higher plants' (30 hours) combines anatomy and physiology of the plant organs (root, stem, leaf) and gives insight to developmental processes (e.g. germination).Part 1: From molecules to cells
The minimal cell (-proteins/enzymes ; -biomembrans - transport ; -DNA/ RNA-information ; -cytoplasma - ATP world
The plant cell (-Chloroplasts-photosynthesis on biochemical level; -vacuole; -cell wall;
-nucleus; -mitochondria; -dictyosoms; -microbodies; -cytoskeletonPart 2: Structure and function of higher plants
Seeds
Germination (-phytohormones; -phytochrom; -plant movements)
Roots (-anatomy, morphology; -mineral metabolism)
Stems (-anatomy, especially wood anatomy; -transport systems; - water relations)
Leaves (-anatomy; -functioning of stomata; -photosynthesis C3, C4, CAM)
