Geographically Jordan as a part of the Levante, lies in the heart of the Middle East. From the biological perspective it is a part of several particulary interesting biogeographic regions. Elements of Paleoarctic, oriental and paleotropical Sudanese faunas and floras - each with highly individual ecological characteristics coverage here and rovide the basis for an extraordinary species diversity. The interdisciplinary excursion to Jordan has tradition since 10 years.
