Content: Quantitative analysis of drugs: titrimetry with chemical and electrochemical determination of the equivalent point; determination of drugs according to the methods of a pharmacopoea; Karl-Fischer titration; spectrophotometry (UV); electrochemical methods: potentiometry, ion selective measurement, potentiometric titration, conductometric titration, polarography; polarimetry; HPLC; enzymatic methods. Determination of substrate concentrations; comparative determination of a drug with three selected methods, statistical evaluation, and discussion of methods and results (teamwork).
Teaching aim: Knowledge of the practical essentials in quantitative pharmaceutical analysis, practical training with the instruments used in quantitative analysis.
