The lecture is for the second part of the studies for physics teachers, in particular for those who plan a diploma work in didactics of physics.An overview is given on matter of the microscopic world and its properties. Systems of several particles and many particle systems are introduced. The following topics are dealt with: elementary particles, fundamental interactions, hadrons, nuclei, atoms, molecules, macromolecules and gases. As far as necessary for an understanding of the topics some basics of quantum mechanics and special relativity will be repeated.Recommended literature:
